$500 First Step Award
Are you interested in getting started with going to college?
We want to help you take that First Step!
The ACC Foundation is now offering a $500 First Step Award to students who are ready to take their very first college course. This award will be applied to tuition, fees, and/or books.
How do you qualify for this offer?
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Have NEVER taken a college course before
You do NOT qualify if:
- You are a Continuing Education/Workforce Development student.
- You have been enrolled in any college or university before.
- You are or were a Dual Enrollment student.
- You are an incarcerated student.
This First Step Award is for the following terms during Spring 2024:
- Spring 16‐Week
- Spring 8‐Week 1
- Spring 4‐Week A
The deadline to apply is January 16, 2024 at 7 pm.
Do I have to be an ACC student?
- You must have an ACC ID, email and login to apply.
- If you do not have one yet, you will need to complete only Step 2 - Apply for Admission, on the following page: Steps To Getting Started
- Once you receive your ACC ID and email, click the following link to apply: Scholarship Portal
- Next you will have to complete a short set of questions.
- Your login is the first part of your email without @student.bianlifan.com.
- Your password is your ACC student ID.
In a just a few short steps, you will be finished and will be notified about your First Step Award!

No. This award is for In‐District Residents, Out‐of‐District Residents and Non-Residents.
This will be applied as FIRST dollar money to your account. If you qualify for Financial Aid or get any other scholarships, that is applied on top of the First Step Award.
As soon as your eligibility is confirmed, the award is applied to your account and will be disbursed after the census date.
No. You do not have to fill one out, however, if you choose to, you may be eligible for more help on top of this award.
If you have never taken a college placement test, it is recommended that you take the TSI to see where you are. Whether or not you HAVE to take the TSI depends on your situation and which class or classes for which you are enrolling.
